All carers who do not have NVQ 11 (care) training are required to register to commence their NVQ 11 training within six months of commencing work for TrewCare.

The NVQ programme is co-ordinated through Truro College, with whom we have a long standing relationship.

The NVQ Level 11 concerns the delivery of health and social care to clients. This includes both hands on care – doing things for clients - and enablement care which focuses on the development and maintenance of the client’s independence – supporting and enabling clients to do things for themselves.

Senior Carers and Supervisors have either undertaken or are in the process of undertaking NVQ 111 in Care. The Manager and Assistant Manager have both obtained their NVQ 1V Care Managers Award.

The NVQ Level 111 is designed for staff who may be providing support to other staff. Also those who deliver physical, emotional or enablement care to clients who have medium or high dependency needs and includes certain specialist interventions.

The Registered Manager’s Award NVQ Level 1V covers all aspects of management. This includes managing a service which gives the best possible outcomes for the individual, and developing systems to promote the rights and responsibilities of people.
